COACH PETE |

Coach Pete has worked with many athletes of all ages and
abilities as a sports performance and speed development trainer, and coach. His major focus
and passion has been both in the athletic development of young
athletes and their fitness. He is continually furthering his innovative techniques to
improve the fitness, multi-directional and linear speed, sport specific
and multi
functional strength & conditioning of youth in
his community. He has coached & been
involved in both the speed, strength and conditioning of
youth
sports for over
16 years.
A (USA Weightlifting)
Sports Performance Coach and USATF Level 1 Coach, he is
currently serving his local community as a youth/adult trainer,
speed coach, physical education consultant, middle school
coach and high school coach. He also serves as
Performance Director and Founder of Omega Speed Training, Omega Kids Fitness
Quest, and the Omega Boot Camp. Coach Pete is a
contracted trainer for numerous local health clubs and
school districts including working for the Nevada Joint
Union HS District Wellness Coordinator in Nevada County,
California where he gives lectures, work shops,
clinics and group classes on fitness and postural awareness
to school district personnel.

USATF
Certified Level 1 Coach
USA Track and Field |
The
USA Track and Field (USATF) is the national governing body of the sport of track
and field, long-distance running and race walking in the United States. USATF
encompasses the world's oldest organized sports, the
most-watched events of Olympic broadcasts, the #1 high
school and junior high school participatory sport and
more than 30 million adult runners in the United States.
Nearly 100,000 Americans are members
of USATF. Member organizations include the U.S. Olympic Committee, NCAA,
NAIA, Road Runners Club of America, Running USA and the National Federation of
State High School Associations. Fifty-seven
USATF Associations oversee the
sport and its 2,500 clubs at the local level.
Curriculum:
The USATF has established a comprehensive program of
coaching education that offers a professional and
structured approach to coaching development. The
program seeks to establish a standard of coaching
competency and upgrading the competencies of coaches
already in the field by actively pursuing the mission of
being, athlete focused, coach centered and
scientifically based. The USATF Coaching Program
consists of the following:
Sport Sciences: Consisting of Physiology,
Psychology, Training Theory and Bio-Mechanics.
Attention is given to these four areas in order to
provide a scientific basis of understanding of the
rational development of technique and training programs.
Technical Training: Progressive event
specific instruction. Emphasizing fundamentals,
rules, philosophy and ethics, safety/risk management,
and instructional techniques for all track events.
The USATF level 1 Coach is prepared to coach at the
junior high school, high school, club and youth age
division level. By earning USATF Coaching
Education recognition, a coach has demonstrated to the
professional community a commitment and desire to
achieve a high level of competency in his chosen
profession.
Accreditation:
The above curriculum is accredited and has been evaluated and approved by the
Carnegie Educational System. For over three decades, the
Carnegie Classification has been the leading framework
for describing institutional diversity in U.S. higher
education. It has been widely used in the study of
higher education, both as a way to represent and control
for institutional differences, and also in the design of
research studies to ensure adequate representation of
sampled institutions, students, or faculty.

NFPT
Certified Personal Trainer
National Federation of Personal Trainers |

NFPT is one of only eight
personal trainer accreditation programs in the fitness
industry that is NCCA (National Commission for Certifying
Agencies) accredited. There are over 300 CPT
certifications available, but only 8 are NCCA accredited,
including ACE, NSCA, CSCA, NASM, ISSA and NFPT.
Curriculum: Human
Anatomy; Anatomical Terms and Biomechanics; Human Physiology; Exercise
Physiology; Characteristics of Wellness; Professional and Legal Practices; Cross
Training & Enhancing Sports Skills for the Athlete; Diet and Metabolism of

The above curriculum is accredited and has been evaluated and approved by the
American Council on Education (ACE). The American Council on Education, the
major coordinating body for all the nation's higher education institutions,
seeks to provide leadership and a unifying voice on key higher education issues
and to influence public policy through advocacy, research, and program
initiatives.

Certified Coach
National Federation of State High School Association |
Since 1920, The National Federation of State High School Associations has led
the development of education-based interscholastic sports. The NFHS serves its
50 member state high school athletic/activity associations, plus the District of
Columbia & publishes playing rules in 16 sports while providing a variety of
program initiatives that reach 18,500 high schools & those who oversee high
school sports.
Curriculum:
Educational Athletics and the Role of the Coach; Coaching Philosophy; The
Coach as Manager; Organization; Administration; Health and Well Being;
Management of Stakeholders; Legal/Liability; The Coach and Interpersonal Skills;
Communication; The Coach and Physical Conditioning; Physiological Demands;

Development; The Coach as Teacher; and Tactical Awareness.
Accreditation:
The above curriculum follows the
National Standards for Athletic Coaches and Level III National Council for the
Accreditation of Coaching Education (NCACE) guidelines. The NFHS certified
Coaching curriculum is eligible for credit by the University of Colorado
at Colorado Springs, through their Liberal Arts and Sciences Extended Studies
Program. The University of Colorado is offering college credit for all
courses and modules developed by the NFHS.

Founded in 1914The CIF
is the governing body for
high school
sports in the state of
California. It mirrors
similar governing bodies in other states; however, it differs from others in
that it covers most high schools in the state of California, both public and
private.
Curriculum:
The purpose of
the CIF Coaching Education Program is to enhance the experience of
student-athletes by assuring that their coaches meet a minimum level of

of interscholastic athletics in California that is consistent with the highest
national standards as set by the legislature, state Department of Education,

The National
High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) provides more leadership and support to
coaches and administrators and their programs than any organization in the
country. Conducting training events that meet the eligibility requirements of
most state and national organizations involved in athletic competition. The
NHSCA selects the National High School Coach and Athlete of the Year in 20
sports.

California Youth Soccer Association |
The mission of the
California Youth Soccer Association is to serve all
children and communities by providing
opportunities that allow each child to grow, learn,
mature and succeed by becoming productive adult members
of society through the development, promotion, and
offering, regardless of race, color, religion, age, sex,
national origin and/or ability, comprehensive community
based leagues that offer a complete range of youth
soccer opportunities for all children of all ages and
abilities.Curriculum:
All Coaching candidates actively participate in field
sessions. Approximately two-thirds of each course is
comprised of field sessions and the remaining one-third
as lectures. The intensity of the field sessions is
directly related to the level of the course. The higher
the course, the more hours required on the field.

Accreditation:
The educational procedure of the CYSA Soccer Coaching
School is established by the United States Soccer
Federation (USSF) which mandates that all coaches,
regardless of background, follow the educational steps
from "F" through National "D", without skipping a level.
It is also required that the information be used for one
full season before proceeding to the the next course.
The Coaching School is part of an educational procedure
concerning modern methods of coaching/teaching youth
soccer.

The Speed Agility and Quickness program is designed to
assure that Certified Personal Trainers are properly
educated on how to create very comprehensive SAQ

USA Weightlifting
Certified
Sports Performance Coach |
USA
Weightlifting (USAW) is the National Governing Body (NGB) for Olympic
weightlifting in the United States. USAW is a member of the United States
Olympic Committee (USOC) and a member of the International Weightlifting
Federation (IWF). As the NGB, USAW is responsible for conducting Olympic
weightlifting programs throughout the country. Top competitors are selected by
USAW to compete in all major international events such as the Olympic Games,
World Championships, World Junior Championships and Pan American Games.
Curriculum:
The USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach
program focuses on the utilization and application
of the Olympic lifts and their assistance exercises, plyometrics and medicine
ball training to the realm of sport specific training, power development and
injury prevention. The program is designed for high school, college and
professional sports coaches who work with athletes from other sports besides
weightlifting, such as football, track and field, wrestling, etc.
The program has combined the time-proven
teaching and training methodology of Olympic
Weightlifting along with the practical
experience of some of the most innovative
and successful professionals from the field
of athletic development and professional
sports training. A hands-on approach
to learning insures that the certified coach
has gained a more thorough understanding of
the complexities and the difficulties of
learning proper Olympic lift movements.
This experience along with the knowledge
gained in the areas of program design and
practical considerations provide the
certified sports performance coach with a
comprehensive foundation to successfully
implement their training into the programs

sports, fitness and coaching industry.
Besides being a member of the National Strength and
Conditioning Association (NSCA), the worldwide authority on strength and
conditioning,
in which Coach Pete
continues to sharpen his knowledge and skills with his access to the latest
research findings, the most advanced techniques, the most up-to-date
conditioning practices and injury prevention methods in the industry, He is also
scheduled for the following programs in which to further
his education and skills as a coach.
►Coach
Pete is currently a USA Track and Field Certified Level
1 Coach and is focusing on attending the USATF seven day
training and testing program in Boulder, Colorado in
July of 2009 in order to become a USATF Level 2 Sprints
Coach.
►Coach Pete is currently enrolled in the National
Federation of Personal Trainer's
Advanced Sports Nutrition Specialist Program and will
complete the program in the winter of 2009.
►Coach Pete is currently a California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA)
Licensed "E" Coach and will be taking his required
classroom and 26 hours of field work in order to procure
his District "D" License in preparation to become a
National "D" Licensed Coach by the end of 2009.

Conclusion |
During those hours that Coach Pete is not running
Adult Fitness Boot Camps, circuit fitness training programs,
lectures and workshops for Nevada Union, Placer and Eureka
School Districts or conducting
youth after school fitness programs through Omega Kids Fitness
Quest, or Coaching several sport teams,
conducting Speed, Agility and Quickness Clinics for young
athletes and local Jr. High, High School and Club teams, HE IS
DILIGENTLY working with his clients as their personal
trainer. Coach Pete's passion is to help his
clients reach their fitness goals through focused
attention, motivation, and encouragement. He has
an endless supply of energy and with enthusiasm
imparts his experience and knowledge concerning
athletic development, multi-directional speed,
multi-functional and sports specific strength, conditioning
and fat
loss to both his adult and adolescent clients.

Coach
Pete is also a volunteer
Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Football and Track and Field Coach. He is certified in CPR/AED with the American
Red Cross and is a Personal Fitness Trainer conducting
individual and group fitness sessions with members of
the Nevada and Placer County Community. Coach Pete is
also a husband of 17 years and the father of three wonderful children who attend
schools in the South Nevada County community.
